This section is about creating an environment as a manager where staff are safe and feel protected through all processes.
Besides any moral or legal obligation to provide a safe working environment managers cannot build strong manager - employee relationships or expect productive work in an unsafe work environment. To be effective accountabilities need to be supported by the alignment of roles, with each having appropriate authorities and supported by effective systems of work. This section clearly articulates the roles, accountabilities and authorities for safety between line roles and corporate roles and the varying levels of accountabilities between front line employees and managers at various levels.
